You're Invited to Register
Dear Glass Shop Owner:
You should be aware that there now exists an ANSI/AGRSS approved standard
establishing automotive glass installation best practices. It is this standard
that creates the easily identifiable benchmark for proper auto glass installation
procedures and it will be this standard, and its contents, that will be promoted
throughout our industry. AGRSS is committed to the nationwide promotion
of this standard. Ultimately, it is our goal that all customers will require their
glass shops to be compliant with the practices established by this standard.
Under this premise, we have created a means for your company to demonstrate
to the public that you comply with this standard of best practices. Attached is
an application entitled Application for Registration of Compliance with
ANSI/AGRSS 002-2002 Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard.
By your completion and submission of this Application, that includes Yes
indications on Attachment B, AGRSS will register your business as one that
complies with the ANSI/AGRSS Standard.
Please treat this Application seriously, since you are guaranteeing that your
company and its auto glass installation personnel will adhere to the standard.
AGRSS is fully aware that much work must be done on your part to ensure
that this happens and is sustained as an on-going practice; but it will be worth
it.
The following list represents a number of features and benefits that youll
attain through this commitment and association with the AGRSS process:
- First, you will elevate the consistency of safe auto glass installation practices
by having everyone follow the same set of rules, thus providing a higher consistency
of quality workmanship and lower liability risk.
- The owners and occupants of automobiles can be better assured of having a
safe vehicle to operate. Your public association with this standard will earn
higher customer attention and business.
- Our multifaceted group of customers, such as the insurance industry, rental
agencies and corporate customers will now be able to clearly identify those who
adhere to our industrys code of best installation practices. This provides
more opportunity to differentiate your business from the competition.
- And finally, your participation in this AGRSS registration program
entitles you to use special promotional tools such as signage, technician accreditation
patches and having your business included as part of AGRSS s national
and regional campaign to promote acceptance of and adherence to the ANSI/AGRSS
Standard. This attention to quality should earn better opportunities to do more
business.
While AGRSS is fully committed to conducting this registration program,
what must be understood is that our industrys customers require the assurance
of knowing registered businesses remain compliant. In the near future, we will
be submitting an overview to you as to how our program will administer a process
of validation to accomplish this task.
Within this application package, you will find the current copy of the ANSI/AGRSS
002-2002 Standard. The AGRSS Council allows this copy to be reprinted and
used strictly with those under your employment and auto glass installation guidance.
Copy rights protection applies to this document beyond this specified and permitted
use.
Under Attachment B, each procedural requirement, as indicated within the Standard,
is outlined in a manner for you to answer as to whether you, your company and
all those associated within your company that work in auto glass replacement will
either agree (with a Yes) or disagree (with a No) toward
its compliance. As one might expect, only a completed application showing
all Yess can be deemed as being compliant with the Standard.
If, for any reason, you only indicate No on any procedural requirement,
and your No is a result of not understanding either the meaning or
intention of the said requirement, you may send your completed application to
the same prescribed address and the AGRSS Administrator will provide assistance
in bringing understanding to those requirements in question. Then you can determine
whether you desire to change your response to Yes, indicating your
agreement to be compliant. If all requirements are then marked Yes,
you may resubmit a new application, indicating such, along with the application
fee to attain AGRSS acceptance of your commitment to be in full compliance
with the Standard.
