AGRSS Consumer Awareness Program (CAP)

* Registration for the Consumer Awareness Program is Free and DOES NOT include admission to the Auto Glass Safety Conference. CAP only registration is not valid for any auto glass related companies.

The AGRSS CAP brings together local officials, community members and insurance company representatives to learn about the importance of proper windshield installations done in accordance with the AGRSS Standard. There is no additional cost to attend the CAP, so come for the International Auto Glass Safety Conference and stay for the CAP sessions for free!

CAP Airbag Demo9:00 a.m. Welcome and Pre-Registration for CE Course

9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. The Role and Value of the Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards (CE Units)*
Agents will earn two Illinois Continuing Education credits for attending this state-approved session. During this informative two-hour class, agents will learn about the importance of a proper windshield installation and how crucial this process is to their customers' (and their own) safety.

11:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.  Video Premiere
Hear the tragic story of Jeanne Fransway and others who have been impacted by improper windshield installations. Jeanne's brother Jon Fransway, an insurance agent, also will speak about Jeanne's death and his efforts as an advocate for safe auto glass installation. Jon also will premiere a new video segment AGRSS has produced (with his help) to explain the validation process. Don't miss this important and informative session!

CAP Rollover Demo12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. Lunch - AGRSS CE Program Overview and Update
Enjoy a relaxing luncheon with local insurance agents, community members and legislators as they are introduced to the concept of the AGRSS Standard, what it means to them and more. This is your chance to learn from each other in a relaxed and informal setting.

1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. Air Bag Demonstration and Rollover Exhibition
Don't miss this chance to see firsthand what happens when an airbag deploys and when a vehicle rolls over. The Illinois State Patrol will conduct a live vehicle rollover demo exclusively for this event, while the group also will demonstrate an actual air bag deployment. See for yourself how your car's windshield plays a critical role in keeping you safe during an accident.

2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. A Look at Auto Safety from an Insider
During this session, an automotive safety expert will look at past auto collision fatality statistics, automotive design and more. (This will be a repeat of Wednesday’s session with an emphasis toward insurers.)
