Does your windshield need replaced? If not now, it will in the future, and when it does, you'll want to make sure the replacement is done properly. The Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards (AGRSS™ ) Council, Inc., a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the safe replacement of auto glass, has launched a website to answer all your questions about windshield installations and to help you find an AGRSS™ -registered shop near you.

The website, www.safewindshields.com, offers a locator service that allows you to input your zip code to find an AGRSS™ -registered shop in your area. AGRSS™ -registered shops have signed an agreement saying that they will adhere to the details of the AGRSS™ Standard for safe installations in every windshield replacement the shop completes.

In addition, www.safewindshields.com includes a copy of the Standard itself and a list of questions you should ask any shop that might replace your windshield.

"The windshield is an integral part of the structural integrity of any car," said Cindy Ketcherside, chairperson of the Council. "People don't realize how much of a safety concern proper replacement is. I urge anyone having auto glass replaced to look for an AGRSS™ -registered shop."

The Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standards Council, Inc., is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to the safe replacement of auto glass. AGRSS™ was founded and is supported by companies in the auto glass replacement industry that keep safe installation as their primary goal.

AGRSS™ is an accredited American National Standards Institute (ANSI)-standards development organization. It has developed the world's only auto glass replacement safety standard, the AGRSS™ standard (ANSI/AGRSS™ 002-2002 Automotive Glass Replacement Safety Standard).
